Acutonics represents the cutting edge of sound healing. It is a complete healing system which uses precisely tuned musical instruments to access the acupuncture points and meridians of Oriental Medicine. At Boulder Acutonics, I combine the Acutonics tuning forks and gongs with 15 years of experience with Oriental Medicine, including acupuncture, herbology,and qigong. The result is an integrated healing system that makes powerful adjustments to the flow and content of the electro-magnetic energy system that animates the physical body.
The dense physical body can be seen as frozen light- it is merely the crystalization of many energetic templates that vibrate at higher frequencies. Our scientific instruments can measure this energy indirectly, and we can see images of the energy fields of humans and plants through the use of Kirlian photography. The next energetic template "out" from the physical is known as the etheric body. It is directly correlated with the acupoints and energy meridians of Orienal medicine. In addition to working at this level, it is believed that Acutonics can reach more subtle levels, working on the energetic templates beyond the body and its bio-mechanical functioning.
There are many reasons I have chosen to weave acutonics into my practice as an integral component. Acutonics meshes very well with the diagnostic methods of Oriental medicine. It is a painless and fully clothed therapy- these can greatly reduces the "treatment anxiety" commonly associated with acupuncture treatment. It is a passive therapy- the patient is invited to lie on the table, as the vibrational signatures of the forks and gongs are "uploaded".
The vibrations of the forks and gongs can be felt throughout the body. For many people this is a very relaxing experience. I've considered calling it a tour of the solar system, because most of my patients go so far "out" into deep states of relaxation.

Many ancient philosophers believed in the validity of music and sound as healing modalities. In 600 BC, Pythagoras wrote a book entitled "Divine Harmony" that detailed his view of the Universe as essentially musical in nature. The ancients took it for granted in many cases that music was a medium for communicating with deeper parts of ourselves.

Today physicists are discovering that the Universe is quite possibly made of music. Subatomic particles theoretically correspond to musical notes. A chief proponent of this theory is the Japanese physicist Michio Kaku:
